Annual Report published in the Gazette 1985

PRESIDENT: Captain J.W.H. Buxton

TREASURER: Not Recorded

MEETINGS: General and Half Yearly at Kingswood and Hanham Royal British Legion, Regent Street, Kingswood, Bristol. As notified. Committee meetings Third Monday of each month except March and August.

Once again 1984 has been a successful year for the Branch, with all main functions being well attended by members and friends.

Early this year we were sorry to two of our most stalwart Vive Presidents leave the Branch, due to their employment, the members being Captain Michael Colvin MP and the Reverend Douglas Walker. They have now joined the Surrey and Medway Branches respectively.

Members and friends enjoyed a very good evening on the 25th February, being hosted by the local police at Southmead, Bristol, with a friendly Skittle and Social Night. Luckily none of us were held overnight!

We also had a charity Skittle and Social Evening on the 26th May at the Kingswood and Hanham Royal British Legion, in aid of Autistic Children. Members and friends and other local Branches of the Brigade attended this most delightful evening.

Our President's wife has given birth to a second son, and our sincere congratulations go to them both.

Our rifle team still continues to prosper under the new leadership of Keith Jones. Once again we were relegated to third place at Pirbright this year behind the Regimental Team, and the eventual winners, the Cheltenham Branch. We hope to have better luck next year.
