Captn Salter informs the court that the Prisoner was sent from abroad by HRH's Order to do duty in the Komh's Company
that he quitted the Command who brought him over, in Southwark
and was never heard of till The Secretary at War gave information to the Commanding Officer that he was confined in Hertford Gaol.
The prisoner can say nothing in his defence, but appears to be an Idiot.
Jno. Purcell of the King's Company informs the court that he knew the Prisoner before he went abroad and looked upon him as an Idiot.
It appears to the court that he is an Idiot.
